This is one of the witchy craft projects I’m working on – nine feet of braided red wool cord, made from nine strands. The yarn is hand dyed wool which I picked up at the local spinners and weavers guild craft sale last November. I’ve got about five and a half feet done so far… and I’m pretty sure (crosses fingers) that my calculations are correct, and that I’ll have enough to make nine feet total. When the braiding is done, I’ll have a nice cord to mark out circles (or Lay Compasses, I suppose, since you are literally laying out your Working space with a dividing tool) for outdoor work. The marking-pegs I’ll make out of Osage Orange wood. I’ll post the final piece here so you all can see as well.
